Meet our Members: Kieran, Jr Business Development Manager at HeadBox
Introduction
From Brighton to Sydney: Kieran’s Journey in the Event-Tech Industry Each month, we shine a light on the incredible members of our community. This month’s #MeetOurMembers spotlight is on Kieran, a key part of the team at Headbox, Australia’s fastest-growing event-tech company.

A Leap from the UK to Sydney’s Thriving Event Scene
Kieran made the big move to Sydney in 2023, swapping Brighton, UK, for the sunny shores of Australia. “I had travelled here in the past and always knew I wanted to come back and work here,” he says.
With a strong background in corporate event sales, he found the perfect opportunity at HeadBox. “I scouted HeadBox seeing as they had a job opening with my experience. From my charm and charisma—and visiting all the great venues around Sydney and going to their events—I landed at HeadBox,” he explains.
Why Kieran Loves the Event Industry
Kieran thrives in the fast-paced world of event tech, where things are always evolving. “The event industry is always growing, so it’s great to be a part of it,” he shares. His motivation comes from his passion for sales: “I’ve always enjoyed sales and the opportunities it can bring.”
His advice for those looking to break into the industry? “Stay resilient and always be personable.”
More Than Just Events: A Passion for Surfing and Tennis
Before diving into the event-tech world, Kieran’s background was anything but ordinary. In the UK, he studied Sports Science and Coaching, competed in swimming at a regional level, and even represented his school in tennis tournaments in Malta.
A surf trip to South Africa post-university deepened his love for the waves, and now his 2024 goal is to “get barrelled surfing.” When he’s not in the water, you’ll find him competing in tennis club tournaments or dreaming up new surfboard designs. “I’d love to learn how to design my own surfboards,” he says.
Book Recommendation: The Chimp Paradox
For those looking to sharpen their mindset, Kieran recommends The Chimp Paradox, describing it as “a great book on mind management.”
